Garage Door Repair & Installation Forest Lake, MN

Forest Lake started as a summer vacation spot around its namesake lake, and it wasn’t until I-35 came through that it became a year-round community, so the housing stock here runs the gamut from older lake places that got winterized to newer subdivisions along the interstate corridor.

Garage Door Repair

That lake-town history means we see a real mix of garages here, from older detached structures on lake lots near the North Shore that were never built to today’s standards, to standard attached two-car garages in neighborhoods like Mill Pond that came later. Our garage door repair work covers broken torsion and extension spring replacement, snapped cables, worn rollers, bent or dented panels, and doors that have jumped the track. A torsion spring generally holds up for about 10,000 open and close cycles, roughly 7 to 12 years under regular use, so where a door falls on that curve depends a lot on whether it’s on an older lake lot or a newer subdivision closer to the interstate. Every job goes into Jobber, our service history system, so if something comes up again a few weeks later we can often walk you through it over the phone at no charge.

Garage Door Installation and Replacement

Whether it’s replacing an older detached garage door on a lake lot or picking a door for a newer build near Gateway Green or the I-35 corridor, we handle new garage door installation and sales for both. We sell and install HAAS doors in a range of styles and insulation levels, and some of Forest Lake’s newer developments come with HOA guidelines on style and color that we’ll work within. Is this your forever home, or is it more of a lake getaway you’re weighing keeping long term? We ask, since it shapes what we’d point you toward, and we’ll tell you what we’d choose if this was our own parents’ place.

Garage Door Openers

Older garages on Forest Lake’s lake lots sometimes have openers that were added well after the structure went up, which tends to make the opener the weak link, while newer subdivision homes mostly call us for a first spring or sensor issue. We provide garage door opener installation, repair, and replacement, including upgrades to belt drive units and new smart openers you can check from your phone. If a sensor retrofit solves it, that’s what we’ll tell you.

Commercial Garage Doors

We install and service commercial garage doors for businesses around Forest Lake, including commercial garage door repair, new commercial garage door installation, and opener service for rolling steel and sectional doors. The commercial strip along the I-35 corridor makes up a good share of what we see here.
